My father was born in TI. We drove back to his hometown on the 2nd day of CNY.
We had Steamboat and Barbeque on both the nights we were there in TI. My cousin prepared this Yee Sang for a prosperous year. The higher the toss goes the more prosperity comes.
The children can't wait to "lou"
Posing before the tossing. Can you spot me? Those in the pic are my aunties and uncles and cousins and nieces and nephews etc. I have so many relatives and this is just 1/9 of them.
There it is.....Don't think it's for us to eat cus it's mainly for tossing :)
Uncle No.3 took us to this place in "Pan Kang" (in mandarin) on the 3rd day of CNY. See the mini crabs. Those are meant to be thrown into the rubbish dump.
Workers dumping all the fishes to the basket from the blue container full with all kind of fishes, prawns, cuttlefish and all various types of seafood.
Then they started to choose and allocate them into baskets of the same category. Do you see the sting rays?
All the fishes in the basket ready to be distributed to the fish markets everywhere around Malaysia.
4th day of CNY. The traffic looks smooth rite? don't judge too early
See!? That's our fast lane!! They conquer our lane. Well, reason was the journey up north was smooth. Only city goers were having a hard time heading south.
I have 2 more posts to go featuring the Yee Sang CNY dinner sponsored by Dell. One @ Sesame+Soy and one @ Jade Blossom.
Stay tuned..
