Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai Day 4

gooodddd morning. This is sunrise from the chalet we lodged on top of the hill in Chiang Rai.

The Wat Rong Khun Please click on the link to find out more on this "wat". I claim this is the most beautiful wat in Thailand. It looks so much like a palace.

Look at the garden surrounding the "wat"

when i first reached this place i thought it must house the buddha statue.

and you know what? it houses the toilets. look at the toilets...it's fully equipped with a towel and slipper and it's very very CLEAN.

up close...

the carvings..

it's the stairway to the Wat Rong Khun

i'm not very sure what this means. but it looks a bit eerie if you look just the shot below. you have to be there to catch it live.

the sideway

80% to completion

the workshop was located in walking distance in within the wat. This is the base.

in which they will add glasses to it and transform into this nicely done piece.

workers smoothens the surface of the clay (i think if i'm not wrong) and stick the glasses on the surface.

i didn't go and find out what this was for....i guess it was for visitor's use during rainy days.

final shot of the Wat Rong Khun

We were on the way to Chiang Mai and we stopped at this natural springs garden called Pong Num Ron.

it's really hot...boiling hot...

what is this you must be wondering....they are baskets of eggs...

what for? to cook them? but where? heheh..in this hot spring.

look at this

We reached Chiang Mai at around 3PM.

i heard that if you've been to Chiang Mai...seeing this you know this is Chiang Mai. I think i need to get more information of the history of Chiang Mai to blog about this.

We managed to catch the final hours at the Royal Flora Park in Chiang Mai before close of business.

I definitely like this....nice art pieces, statue and most importantly fresh air and greens....

the Biodiesel garden.

apparently this place is still in the pre opening phase, so we don't have to purchase tickets to go in according to the worker but i found contradicting info from wikipedia...

we took the train around the garden because it's going to take a long journey by foot

the main entrance decorated with 5 elephants on each side.

they built architecture based on countries in the royal garden too...those that i could rmb was China and Kenya.

This is the one that symbolises Thailand...called the Pavilion

the main hall of the pavilion sees

the main entrance

in the pavilion houses this

This is the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek 2006. It's 2006 because it was a flora festival held in the year 2006. and i think now i know why we don't purchase tickets because the festival is over... i could be wrong. Also partly because i did not get more information on this garden..too exhausted and everything is in Thaiii... ok?
